R bought me a dark chocolate Easter Egg (after only a few hints from me). I am really not fond of milk chocolate, or worse still the abomination which is white chocolate. Amber admired the egg too. A little black magic from a magic black cat…
Yesterday I bought R a large Thorntons’ Easter Egg, complete with an inset box of chocolates. He greatly admired it and I reminded him that it wasn’t to be opened “until Easter”. This morning, I noticed that the box was open and all the chocolates had gone. R claims he had obeyed my instructions because […]
I got these from the Argyll Bakery in Inverary (where I got the very good mince pies at Christmas). Now my arm is recovered I could have made them for myself, but these ones looked so fetching that I couldn’t resist. They are yet another thing R won’t eat, but J and I enjoyed them.
Thinking out the layout of my area in the house for the time I am in a wheelchair, I have decided to put a single bed into my office. This is so that I can access it from both sides, and also because my existing bed in the main bedroom is ridiculously low. I’ve been […]

I decided to convert our smallest bedroom into a gym. This room has had quite a few roles in the last few years – it was an office, then a “snug” where we were going to watch TV but never did, then a server room when I was running my computer company, and finally a […]
It is looking very springlike outside now – blossom on the apple trees, catkins on the willows and the daffodils out. Unfortunately, our big plum tree has had no blossom on it for the last two years. We used to get a huge harvest every year, but sadly no longer. I think the problem may […]
I can’t say I am that enthusiastic about having to use a wheelchair for the next few months. The cats have different ideas however. First it was Saphy. Then Amber. A few minutes later, Saphy came back and ousted her sister by climbing up the back of the chair and dropping on her from above. […]
