Afraid that after the dried up disaster that was last year’s cake, I’ve given up on Delia’s recipe and have tried Mary Berry’s. It actually seems to have come out better, though again I cooked it for only 3.5 hours rather than the 4 she recommended, and it still seems slightly over done. Still I have given it a good feed of brandy and it certainly smells nice so we will see.
My Dad is the Christmas Cake connoisseur, so he will need to let me know when he tastes it.
