Eleventh Day of Mousemas

R’s sister V gave me a “Woodland creature garland” for Christmas. Saphy liked this a lot. Lucky is starting his new year diet a bit early. He really is quite badly overweight – from behind his profile is almost square, and when rolling over, he can’t reach the middle of his tummy. He is getting […]

Tenth Day of Mousemas

Family went home today. I hope they don’t have the same A83 experience as Santa did trying to get home after finally finishing his deliveries rather late.

Nineth Day of Mousemas – Boxing Day

Table laid for Christmas dinner. Note the Mr Carson style tape measure – I don’t think J really measured the place settings though! This was our starter, a seafood platter from M&S. We also had their chocolate torte for pudding. With rasps and clotted cream.

Eighth Day of Mousemas – Christmas Day

Merry Christmas everyone! Amber and Saphy sang the “12 Days of Mousemas” for us (Lucky was outside greeting the mice, voles and birds with goodwill to all creatures). The Twelve Days of Mousemas *Verse 1:* 🎶 On the first day of Mousemas, my human gave to me A mouse in a tiny tree. 🎶 *Verse […]

Seventh Day of Mousemas – Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve on the Donich we visited Spain for Tapas Night. Apart from me nearly dying of chili poisoning the food was lovely. Then we played charades and “Animal, vegetable, mineral”. My mum managed an all time record by guessing the answer on her first “question”!

Sixth Day of Mousemas

No snow today, just pouring rain and wind. The snowman was built in the garden here by R and I a few years ago. We have only had one white Christmas here in Lochgoilhead. The same year we saw heron prints in the drive.

Fifth Day of Mousemas

Here is Heather the Heilan’ Coo. R bought me her from a local chainsaw craftsman a few years ago. R has a chainsaw which he uses to cut down small trees but the only sculpture he would be likely to create with it would be “Man with chainsaw clutching severed leg”. Here is Heather in […]

Fourth Day of Mousemas

Unfortunately our Christmas cake is from ASDA this year as I can’t do any baking. Here is a selection of cakes I have baked in previous years. R has just had to drive via Crianlarich to pick up the Turkey in Dumbarton (55m detour) as A83 closed again.

Third day of Mousemas

A blast from the past today. Tora and Schrodi had a rather mixed relationship with snow. Here they are during the big freeze of 2009 before we moved from Livingston. Here is their portrait done by Bing AI

Second Day of Mousemas

Sadly I am not able to bake mince pies this year as my arm is in a sling. Instead I bought them from ‘Fynest Fish’. This is a local company in Inverary who are basically a fishmonger, but deliver a lot of different local produce to the surrounding area. This is the sort of business […]
