Night time activities
What sort of activities you may ask? Particularly as R was away in London.
Cat activities. First of all just after I went to bed, Amber joined me for a night-time purr. She has a loud and penetrating purr and she likes to do it as close to your ear as possible. After a while she left me and I fell asleep, only to be woken up around 2am by a “running up and down the hall noise”. I could hear this very clearly because when R is away I prop the door open in case the ladies need a refuge from Lucky.
I realized after about 10 minutes of running and pouncing noises, that one of them had lost a rodent in the house. I decided to ignore it.
After half an hour of it, I realized I would have to get up and investigate. Carefully putting a dressing gown on (we have a webcam in the hall and I have more than once been caught on it in the nude) I went out into the hall. Saphy was sitting on her own with no sign of the other two cats, or the mouse for that matter. Together we walked all around the house looking for it. My intentions were to catch it and let it go. Saphy’s were not as benign.
After ten minutes I gave up and went back to bed, closing the door this time. I think Saphy continued her search, but either she found it and consumed it, or it got away and is still in the house because there was no evidence of it in the morning.
The photo is of Amber in purr mode on my bed.
