Home at last

Well what was supposed to be two days turned into a whole week. I am a bit tired, but on the whole I had a good time. It was great to be out doing things again after such a long period of involuntary inactivity. It was also the first time I realized that my foot is well and truly fixed – I walked up stairs and down them, I carried a heavy bag about, I showered in an over bath shower that involved climbing into a slippy bath, I jumped in and off train. My longest daily walk in the week I was away was 9 miles.

So many thanks to surgeon number 2 for fixing the mess surgeon number 1 had made of my foot, and returning me to near normality.

The cats were pleased to see me – Lucky in particular. In return, R and I managed to remove a giant fur mat from his coat – he just lay there and purred while we did it – if we had tried it six months ago we would have left in a basket.

The sheep have returned to the garden – apparently while I was away there were five of them – today only two put in an appearance.
