Eighth Day of Mousemas – Christmas Day
On the eighth day of Mousemas, cats recognize that humans have their own celebrations. This is rather like in grand houses in the last century, when servants were “given” an alternative day (say 27th December) to have their own special day of celebration in lieu of having to work their fingers off on the real Christmas day. So humans are allowed to have turkey and presents on the 25th, with the understanding that as the day does fall during the “Vole” period, that cats get turkey (and prawns and anything else interesting) plus any spare boxes and paper that is going.
This was the humans’ Christmas table.
This was the tree with presents.
These were J’s feet in his Christmas Lidl socks and badger slippers.
