Second Day of Mousemas
Went out to Tir na Og in Drymen today for lunch with R’s sister V who I haven’t seen in years.
We had a very nice lunch (the homemade scones with jam and cream are very good) and then looked at the New Age style shops. Perhaps surprisingly, I quite like this kind of thing, as I feel that superstitious nonsense as all the neo-paganism, Wicca stuff may be, it is more up my street as a general philosophy of life than Christianity is. In any case, with the exception of a few people who are genuinely religious in the Christian sense, what is celebrated in the Western World is in fact far closer to any pagan mid-winter festival than it is anything to do with Christianity, so I would rather call it Yule. If I weren’t going to call it Mousemas.
Amber noticed there was no mouse in the picture so I had to add this little gentleman to keep her off my back.
