I’ve spent most of today helping J pack up his mother’s china cabinet – this was a big job as she was a keen attender of auction sales.

Many of the items are singleton tea and coffee cups, obviously survivors from very splendid sets indeed as they are surpassingly beautiful.  It was a real shame for them to be tucked away in a cabinet – though with this kind of thing it is hard to know what to do to display it to its best effect.
