Years and years..
R and I were discussing snow on Beinn Bheula. This is the Corbett directly in front of our house and is 771m high. There has been no snow on it yet as we move from autumn to winter, and we couldn’t remember exactly how often there was snow in the second week of November. So I went back through our extensive photo collection and took a look. This is as close as I could get to a picture of Bheula on 11th Nov. Some of the pictures are not from the exact date, and some of them do not have the right facing, but you get the idea. TLDR – we only had snow on Bheula four Novembers – so about a third of the time. December and January will be a different story – I suspect there will be snow nearly every year on one of those. The other thing that surprised me about these photos, is how many lovely days we have had in November, but R correctly pointed out that we take loads more photos when the weather is nice than when it isn’t.
– the year we moved in there was snow
– no snow
– this was taken from the village – snow
– lots of snow
– no snow
– no snow
– no snow
– a little snow
– no snow
– no snow
– no snow
– no snow (I couldn’t find one of Bheula for this shot, but this one is round to the side of it)
– no snow
