Round the loop

Back in Sept 2023 I walked the Inverlounin Loop which was one of the two walks R and I did nearly every day. Towards the end of the month I had the fatal slip on the top path part of this walk which finally did for my ankle and let me in for a year of pain, incapacity, and two major operations.

Today R and I walked it again. I was a bit slow, but not too bad, and although I took a stick with me in case I needed it on one particularly steep descent, I never used it. I’ve walked 6 miles in total, 14,000 steps and ascended the equivalent of 35 flights of stairs.

Actually the forestry have done quite a lot of work on the path and it is pretty smooth. Unfortunately, they only do this when they have trees to take out, and this is corroborated by the fact that they have made a turning circle at the top.

My goal for the coming week is to go up to the Donich falls. It is a shorter walk but steeper and the path is rougher.
