Cat TV

R bought me a projector and Apple TV box for my birthday. Today we tried it out in the lounge; we removed a couple of paintings from the wall and projected the video on to it. We watched the BBC’s “Asia” program and it was fantastic – the projector is a real cinema like experience with a screen much bigger than any TV at a tiny fraction of the cost.

While we were watching part of the program featuring some brightly coloured fish being chased over a reef by sharks, Lucky came into the room. He was most intrigued by the images – though he didn’t know whether to be frightened of them or try to attack. Several times he crept into the room and sat there quite entranced with his big bushy tail twitching.

Apparently how interested a cat is in movie images (or in themselves seen in a mirror) is related to their hunting instinct and general intelligence. Lucky seems to be more intelligent than either of the two ladies, as he likes mirrors as well as movies and they like neither.

Poor little Saphy has had to go to the vet today with a urinary problem (she has been peeing in the house, and specifically on R’s office chair for a few days now and this morning we saw blood in it). She really did not like the carrier so I hope she is alright.
