More on the hole and an experience
You’ll remember the mystery hole in the garden which we were hoping might be the den of some aquatic creature? Well R brought the trail camera in and we got the photos off it…
Here is some wildlife investigating the hole.
And half entering in!
It is Lucky. So from that I think we may presume that whatever creature was there has now departed.
On another wildlife related subject, we had a wonderful experience last night. R was late back from the airport, and I was in the kitchen turning the lights out the back of 11pm when I saw a movement on the window sill. I managed to call R and J to see a wonderful pine marten. It played around on the window sill for a good five minutes and we got lovely views of it. It really didn’t seem to notice us at all, until suddenly it stood right up on its hind legs and looked through the window – right at Saphy. Simultaneously, she got very interested and it fled!
J had never seen a marten in the live before, and R and I had never seen one so close. It was a magical experience – we didn’t have a camera at hand, but just as well, because sometimes you just need to be in the moment rather than taking photos of it.
