A mysterious hole

R and J were investigating the pond and found this hole in the bank.  We wondered if it could possibly be an otter’s holt entrance (though apparently they normally go for around the roots of trees).  We have seen an otter in the pond a couple of times but that was many years ago.

R has put our trail camera near it to see if we can get a photo of what it is.

I wish I could go out and see it, but it is too rough under foot down there.  I am operating normally in the house now with minimal pain, but I still have to wear the boot when I am weight bearing.  It was supposed to be for 10 weeks which gives me three to go, but I am holding out some hope that the consultant will say I can take it off a bit sooner.  I’m not normally one for doing what I am told, but after the disaster of the first operation I am giving the repeat its last best chance for peace.  I don’t think there is much bone left in my foot for a third attempt.
