Cat Party
Our three cats do not know their birthdays (or perhaps better to say that we do not know their birthdays, as I don’t think cats are really that up on the whole concept). Saphy and Amber came to us from Cats Protection as “sisters” but I am fairly sure they are not biologically related. Amber is five years older than Saphy, she is big boned, a bit fat and jet black. Saphy is a small lithe tabby. Cat number three, Lucky is a stray/feral we adopted last year. So to celebrate all three of them we have given them an official birthday (like the King) and it is 21st Sept.
Actually the whole idea was to use the cake I bought for J’s birthday back in August. The whole celebration was curtailed by the fact that I was in hospital having my foot done at the time. The cake is a “cheese cake” in the literal sense in that it is five layers of different cheeses. In this case, it is made to look like a tower being admired by mice.
This was the invite the cats sent out. The idea was that the woodland creatures were sad until the cats invited them to a party, at which point they were happy again. The items from the menu were all prepared by me. The illustration below was supposed to be the happy creatures after the party.
Here was the table. Unfortunately I didn’t get one with all the food because I was too busy serving stuff. There was also a surprise desert – it will be in the next post but see if you can work out what it is from the invitation.
