A gift we bring you every day

The joke dessert from the cats’ birthday party came with the lines

A riddle now to end our song

And close the meal with something strong

We’ll bring a present in a tray

The same as we do every day.

No one got this joke – they came up with answers like “a bird”.  This was of course the answer

The tray is a real litter tray (never used), and the scoop is a food scoop (well washed).  The “litter” is muesli and the “grass” is bits of chives mixed with guava juice.  But the star of the show is the “turds” made from Green and Black’s organic 70% chocolate and fresh double cream.

It goes to show how powerful the appearance of something can be because no one apart from me would eat any – not even R who loves chocolate.

Once everyone had gone, I melted the turds back down and rolled them into balls which J and I ate.  R still wouldn’t eat them because he is on a diet.  They were quite nice but too sweet and rich for my taste.
