Garage getting closer
Our new garage is getting built in October. First a local builder is putting a base in, then the garage company is putting the building itself up. Finally we are getting electric lights and a power strip with plug sockets put in. It is a double garage, so the idea is to put the car on one side, leaving the whole area at the other side for a workbench and to store all our power tools which keep getting a bit wet in the sheds where we are currently storing them.
Also, after many tribulations with my foot, I am hoping to finally get my own transport in case I can’t walk long distances. I had been toying with the idea of an ebike, but I am coming around to the idea of an etrike instead. They are more stable which means not so much potential strain on my foot. Also much better for carrying things like picnics.
I had wanted to get one back in July but put it off when I got the bad news about having to have the second operation, and there is not much point in getting one now before the spring. So when I do get it, it will have somewhere to live out of the elements. Also Rowley the robot lawnmower will have a new home out of the winter elements.
It is now six weeks since my second foot op. I can walk perfectly well in the Aircast boot (within the limitations of the boot itself) and there is a huge temptation to try putting a little pressure on my foot without the boot. I am going to resist this because the consultant thinks with the degree of damage caused by the original failed operation, it is best to err on the side of caution. So at least another two weeks and potentially four weeks to go.
