Nature’s bounty
I can’t really go out on to the lawn and pick apples at the moment, but I can see through the door that the ones on my favourite tree are getting ripe, so I got R to bring one in for me to see whether they are ready for picking. Looking at it, I think they need another two weeks, although I will eat this one now it has been picked.
I will have to give some thought as to what to do with the rest of the apple harvest this year. It is very problematic because they are not the easiest fruit to process and we have four trees. Also R is not very fond of them. Also everyone in the village has them as well so I can’t even give them away.
My favourite fruits in our little orchard were our plum and our cherry. Unfortunately both of them have stopped bearing fruit, so I have decided that when I am fully back on my foot, I will plant some new one. Hopefully they will not be eaten by deer.
