Another Garden of Dreams

It will be J’s birthday next week – in fact the day I get out of hospital after my operation. We were supposed to be having a little meal for him on 10th, but I am going to be far from my best that day – so we met up in Rhu today instead.

As J had admired my Mum’s “Garden of Dreams” picture so much, I made him one of his very own. Here it is.

It is based on the house in Norfolk which is currently in the process of being sold, and all the other things in the picture represent things that have been important in his life. The total absence of people means nothing more than the fact that I am useless at drawing people.

I also wrote him a parody poem of “The Gruffalo” called “A bug’s progress” and illustrated it. The bug is supposed to be J, and the fearsome monster “the Maz” is me.

Here is me, complete with bandaged ankle. The T-shirt says “FAFO” – I actually have this T-shirt.
