Moving further away from ultra processed food

As I’ve mentioned before, I’ve never been at all a fan of processed food in general, and specifically ultra processed food.

While I had the bad foot though, I was not really capable of standing up in the kitchen for long periods of time, so I had to take some short cuts. I didn’t buy out and out ready meals, but I did things like buy shop made falafels, refried beans, cheese sauce. I’d even been buying shopmade garlic bread!

But this has now stopped as I can increasingly stand up for a few hours at a time.

So I made homemade falafels (chick peas, organic tahini, olive oil garlic, organic wholemeal flour, coriander), humus (same plus garlic and minus flour) with homemade hot salsa, olives, fresh tomatoes and homemade flatbreads (organic wholemeal flour, water, yeast, salt). Served with natural yoghurt (ingredients – milk).

Cheaper and not ultra process, or even in fact pre-processed at all apart from the yoghurt and tahini. Took about an hour to make and half an hour to clean up afterwards.
