Doughnut Meeting

R told me he was having a “doughnut meeting” this afternoon. Apparently (and this sounds like a very, very American idea), you are paired up at random with a person from a different team in the Company, and you just have a general chat to get to know each other. I suppose it is not the worst way to pass your time – I can think of many more pointless meetings I have personally attended.

Anyway, as a nice surprise for R, I made him some actual real doughnuts filled with homemade raspberry jam.

They were quite nice, but I made them from a recipe for baked doughnuts as I don’t have a deep fat fryer. As a result they were a bit dry and lacked the delicious “greasiness” of a fried doughnut. They would be a great deal healthier though and definitely not ultra processed. The jam was pretty good as well – so much easier to make in small quantities.
