R has gone to Paris for a few days.

Saphy decided to investigate his suitcase. She looks very disapproving of the idea that he was going away without her. This seems to be a common cat behaviour – many years ago I had packed my suitcase for a two week holiday, and Schrodi decided to sleep in the case on top of the newly ironed clean clothes. By the time I found out, the clothes were coated in white fur and had to be rewashed. Luckily for R, Saphy is not really a shedder, and he hadn’t ironed the clothes anyway.

Note the packet of Tunnock’s caramel wafers in the case – these are a gift for a friend in Paris rather than a sneaky indulgence from R.
