Power cut

Big storm has arrived here tonight. R had the foresight to suggest this morning that as power cuts were likely, we should put the battery into storm mode. This means that instead of running itself down during the day to maximize our cheap off peak electricity, we have had it hold its charge.

We are now running off the Powerwall = with non essentials turned off, the house is using 0.4k – so the battery will last over a day on current consumption.

Just as well because the estimate of when the grid power will be restored does not look too great.

I will have to admit to a certain schadenfreude…
