Lost my sweepstake on GBBO

Well, Dan’s eclairs and macarons let me down and he didn’t win. Matty was a deserved winner though.

I watched the bake off this morning rather than last night, because I have a subscription to Channel 4 OD which lets me watch it without adverts. I am violently allergic to adverts and use an ad blocker for everything. In the rare cases (C4 was one of them) where they bar anyone using a blocker, I make a considered decision between a) not using that site again – default condition and b) subscribing to the site if they allow for paid subscriptions. A corollary to having the ad free subscription though is that I can’t watch the program live because it would be impossible for them to have it on two different schedules for the paying and non-paying customers. So I had to watch it this morning and get R to check the BBC to make sure they hadn’t announced the winner on their news site before I looked at it this morning.

This was my snack while I watched GBBO. Homemade granary bread with peanut butter and banana. A bit of a marmite one I think.
