Illicit Visitor

I went for an out-of-band cup of coffee while R was out. Came back two minutes later, and Amber had decided that the extra caffeine would not be good for me – so she blocked access to my office chair. My poor mother has still not met Amber because she (Amber not my mum) runs away the moment anyone apart from R, J and I enters the house. With people she knows, Amber is a lovely friendly cat – although an enormous chonk.

The chair is falling to pieces, partly from old age, and partly because Saphy has a special project to destroy all leather items in the house, and this chair is in her top ten. I need to buy a new one, but like shoes, chairs are hard to buy from the Internet because it is impossible to gauge whether they are comfortable or not. I may have to see if I can find a shop in Glasgow and take some for a test drive.

On a less than good note.  My shoulder I hurt two years ago has been sore and stiff on and off ever since.  I finally went to the Doctor about it, have seen a specialist and discovered that I need to have a shoulder replacement.  Apparently it was partially dislocated originally, never properly set and then made worse by over exercise trying to make it more flexible.  So off to hospital for a couple of days to have this done (privately as we have Bupa).  This means I will have my arm in a sling for four weeks over Christmas – R will be cooking the dinner!
