Poor old pussy cat

I was awakened in the night by a loud scuffling noise and some squeaking. I jumped out of bed to find a very lively mouse on the floor which Tora had just brought in. I grabbed for it but only being half awake, I missed and it shot off under the bed.

So we were reduced to putting the humane trap out with a nice portion of mature cheddar cheese. During the night I heard a noise under the bed and sure enough there was a little field mouse in the trap which I released into the garden.

This rodent situation is getting a bit beyond a joke as I went to get rid of an old car cover from our shed and found numerous nests in it. I cut it up and burnt it (being very sure there were no mice actually in it). So maybe that is fixed now but no thanks to the poor old pussy cat.
