Seven wee mices

R went to replenish our seed store yesterday. I like him to carry the sacks as they weigh 25kg and are a bit much for me.

We try to keep the nuts and seeds in canisters as the shed tends to be a bit damp, and also the growing rodent population in there tends to eat holes in the paper bags the seeds come in.

But this morning, our plans had come to nothing. One of the canisters has a slightly broken lid, and either I didn’t secure it properly last night, or the rodents have learned how to push it off. Anyway when R went to put the seeds in, there were seven little field mice looking up at him. He shooed them out and has put the canister under the bench where he thinks they won’t be able to get in. I am not so sure.
