Owl Box mounted in garden

Our lovely owl box which my parents gave us as a present has now been mounted on a tree. Unfortunately due to the actions of our government we didn’t manage to get it put up in time for owls to breed in it this year. We are still hearing them around but I think that nesting will already have occurred.

We have a mallard on our pond but he is a male and seems to have lost his female who was with him earlier this year. So no ducklings – perhaps this is just as well with all the predators around.
