Someone killed our poor wee fox that has been visiting the feeding area for nuts all summer and dumped its little body by the side of the hydro road. People walk down that road with their children and it would be a horrible sight for a child to see. Someone told me that last year a fox was killed and it was actually draped over the road sign at the entry to the village – now that is going to be a good invitation for people to come here – not!. I’ll give Drimsynie credit for complaining and getting it removed.
The fox population of the UK has declined by 41% since 1995 – it is about time we protected all our mammals. What on earth was the point of banning hunting with dogs if the poor things can be shot or snared at will anyway. I suppose with the hunt they actually had a chance to get away. The cruelty of humanity to the other natural creatures of our world simply appals me.
Anyway, I hope whoever killed my fox gets the opportunity to reflect on their deeds when they go to whatever reward is waiting for them.
