Who ate all the plants?

The summer flowers being over I bought some winter pansies and some little alpines for Schrodi’s garden.

Blow me but having planted the pansies, they had all totally vanished within two days. I’ve no idea whether this was squirrels, birds or the four red deer which have been in the garden recently.

Anyway, when the alpines turned up I thought that they would need to go in the pots next to the door rather than right round the back on the grounds that deer wouldn’t come right up to the house. A day later they have all gone as well. I presume it must be squirrels but I am afraid those are the last plants I am buying as it is a very expensive way of feeding wildlife!
