Slug in the night

I had an exceedingly unpleasant experience at 3am today. I got up to go to the loo in the dark, and on the way encountered something wet and squishy under my foot. I thought it was going to be another of Tora’s catches and I suppose in a sense it was because otherwise I can’t think of how it got in (R would say it was a sneaky pine marten :)). It was a very large slug which I then deposited outside. It has left trails all over my rug which I will need to scrub off.
