The Day has come
Whanne that April with his shoures sote
The droughte of March hath perced to the rote.
And smale foules maken melodie,
That slepen alle night with open eye,
So priketh hem nature in hir corages;
Than longen folk to gon on pilgrimages
A quote from Chaucer at the beginning of the Canterbury Tales and very appropriate, as it is April and J and I are setting out on our pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela.
The pilgrimage begins today with a less than medieval flight to Bilbao with EasyJet. Tomorrow we will be having a look round the city, and on Friday, we will be off to St Jean de Pied Port to start walking.
Provided I can get Internet access along the way, I plan to do a daily diary.
