Bit of a disastrous holiday

Our holiday didn’t turn out very well one way and another as we were hit with storm Ali.

We went to Cawdor castle and although the building itself was very interesting, our walk afterwards was a disaster. We set out to walk on a five mile circuit round the estate in bright sunshine but at about half way out it suddenly started to pour down. By the time we got back we were totally soaked through and decided to come home.

We really had a bit of difficulty negotiating the road home, to the extent that at times we were not expecting to make it as there were trees down all over the roads and when we finally made it on to the A82 along Loch Lomond it was over a yard deep in water.

Having said that – at least when we got home we had decent weather for the last few days of what should have been our holiday.
