I probably shouldn’t have done this – but I thought it would be a nice surprise for my Mum if I ordered her a new freezer. I can tell you that I will not be ordering from Curry’s again any time soon because they managed to screw the whole thing up and send a fridge/freezer with the completely wrong product number instead of the large capacity freezer I actually ordered. Then I had to spend 30 minutes in the morning and another 45 in the evening trying to get it sorted out on the phone. They have one of these automated “press 1 for this, 2 for that” systems where if you don’t have a standard request it takes ages and ages to get through to a human who can actually sort the problem (maybe!). Then when I eventually did manage to get through to someone – I find out that they won’t deliver until Sunday – which means this entirely unwanted and unordered appliance is going to be sitting in the kitchen for four days.
I sometimes despair of any company actually having competent staff. Not Curry’s anyway – they made the mistake of asking for my feedback which I gave them in great detail.
Unfortunately I had made steak pies which had been going to go in the new freezer as it is difficult for my parents to cook at the moment because of my mum’s broken leg. I can’t really bring them over now as I am not convinced that the correct freezer is now going to turn up on the correct day.
