Apples, apples and more apples

Our apple trees keep producing more and more fruit this year – to the extent that I am struggling to know what to do with it.

Today I am making a load of apple jelly – hopefully my father who is very fond of preserves of all sorts will appreciate it.

This has only cleared a small fraction of the fruit on the trees though so I will need to try to think of something to do with the rest of it. I suppose worst case scenario I can just leave it for the jays – although for some reason they seem less keen on it now than they were a week or two ago.
