Lovely evening on Cnoc Coinnich

After a damp and midgie week the weather suddenly picked up late this afternoon and most of the insects vanished.  I made the most of it by going for a quick hike up Cnoc Coinnich.

The views were sensational as ever.

I didn’t see a soul the whole way apart from a few sheep, until on my way back I suddenly encountered four walkers who were heading up Coilessan.  I hope they weren’t lost because they didn’t seem to have camping things and they would have been pushing it to get as far as Arrochar before it got dark.  I suppose it would be ok sleeping under the stars provided you stay above the “midge line” – this seems to be about 400m.
