Cormonachan Woods Open Day

It was the open day at the Woodlands across the loch today, and in spite of warnings of rain today, in fact it turned out quite fine.

I made a chocolate cake and some biscuits in the shape of red squirrels, both of which seemed to go down quite well.

I took a few Surfaces up to the hut in the woods and showed a presentation which I thought got over the beauty of the area quite well.

Liz talked about what we are trying to achieve with the woods (basically get some people together to clear the paths, clean out rhododendrons and sikka spruce). In general make the woods a resource for the community and for visitors.

Then we went for a woodland walk which was really pleasant on a day like today…
