N & J are coming for dinner today and I thought I would make one of Jamie Oliver’s ’30 minute meals’ – in this case Swedish fishcakes with salsa, roast potatoes and alfafa salad.
It is a lovely recipe and it all looks very nice (uncooked so far) but I really find it hard to believe that anyone could really make it all in 30 minutes in a ordinary kitchen with no pre-preparation and no assistance. I timed myself, and to get to the stage where it is all ready to cook (bar the salad) took me an hour and five minutes. As anyone who knows me would testify – I am a pretty fast cook. To be entirely fair, I was making quite a large quantity and I only have a very small food processor – but still…
