When Cat meets Pine Marten…

Since before we moved here I have been a bit worried about the cats and some of the wildlife we have here. Although I have joked a lot about Tora having a girlfriend he can’t bring home because she is a Pine Marten, I did have it at the back of my mind how awful it would be if the pine marten injured the cats or vice versa.

But last night we caught on the webcam what does happen when two top predators meet on the territory of one of them (Click on the image above to see the video)

So what happens is that the cat sees the pine marten off sharply but no injuries to either. I suspect this may be because the incident occurred on Tora’s territory – may have been different if they had met in the woods.
