This must be the first year that my Christmas cactus has looked likely to have flowers on it for the big day. Last year it wasn’t anything like ready even by the end of January and didn’t end up properly coming into flower until February. Looking promising for this year!

A few years ago I bought my mum a reproduction of the famous Egyptian cat for Christmas. No sooner had we taken it out of the box than Schrodi colonized it. He didn’t quite fit into the moulded polystyrene shape but he did his best.

Having enjoyed the Orient Express so much, for my Mum’s Christmas I took her on the Northern Belle. Amusingly it went out over the West Highland line via Arrochar to Ardlui. The food was pretty amazing and I think my mum liked her little Belmond Teddy Bear.
