Apple Blossom
I’ve never seen anything like the blossom on our fruit trees this year. The apple tree in the picture is particularly splendid – in previous years it has never done much.
So hoping for a good harvest and many apple pies. The smaller tree beside it is a pear, and it has also been loaded with blossom. Last year it had fruit for the first time (pear trees apparently take a long time to start bearing fruit), but they were tiny and didn’t get to eating stage before the frosts came. So I am hopeful for this year…
The weather continues great and I am having to spend half an hour watering the bedding plants every evening. I have also bought six bush tomato plants and ensconced them in the summerhouse as the nights are still chilly.
