sunset – Donich Website https://www.donich.co.uk Argyll wildlife and nature as seen on the banks of the Donich Water Thu, 23 Mar 2017 13:03:05 +0000 en-US hourly 1 https://wordpress.org/?v=6.7.4 Duke’s Path in the snow https://www.donich.co.uk/blog/2017/03/22/dukes-path-in-the-snow/ https://www.donich.co.uk/blog/2017/03/22/dukes-path-in-the-snow/#respond Wed, 22 Mar 2017 12:57:31 +0000 http://www.donich.co.uk/?p=6901 I took a wander up the Duke’s Path towards Coran Lochan today.  The weather was superb, although cold and snowy and the views were first rate.

Obviously no one had been along the path since the snow fell; no one human at least although I saw lots of animal tracks (mostly deer and sheep).

This one was a carnivore.

In the evening the views to the mountains were quite superb – one of the best sunsets I have seen since we have been living here.

Advent 9th Dec – Sunset over Drymsynie https://www.donich.co.uk/blog/2016/12/09/sunset-over-drymsynie/ https://www.donich.co.uk/blog/2016/12/09/sunset-over-drymsynie/#respond Fri, 09 Dec 2016 06:22:59 +0000 http://www.donich.co.uk/?p=6606 The caravan park is normally rather an ugly blemish on the side of the loch, but this sunset managed to make it beautiful. I took this on 28th Dec last year which is always a peaceful interlude between Christmas and R’s birthday which is on 29th.

Unreal Sky https://www.donich.co.uk/blog/2016/11/21/unreal-sky/ https://www.donich.co.uk/blog/2016/11/21/unreal-sky/#respond Mon, 21 Nov 2016 21:17:08 +0000 http://www.donich.co.uk/?p=6537 I went for a walk around 4:30pm today just as the sun was going down over the snowy mountains. The sky colour was unreal – very spectacular.

Amazing colours from the trees.

Then this evening the sunset was magnificent again – the whole sky seemed to be on fire.

Lovely Sunset https://www.donich.co.uk/blog/2016/10/06/lovely-sunset-2/ https://www.donich.co.uk/blog/2016/10/06/lovely-sunset-2/#respond Thu, 06 Oct 2016 21:02:39 +0000 http://www.donich.co.uk/?p=6385 This was the view at sunset today on the way down the Donich Circular walk – quite spectacular.

Later, sitting in my office there was a thin crescent moon visible out of the window and lots of bats flitting about – it would have been spooky if it weren’t so lovely.

Spectacular sunset this evening https://www.donich.co.uk/blog/2016/02/24/spectacular-sunset-this-evening/ https://www.donich.co.uk/blog/2016/02/24/spectacular-sunset-this-evening/#respond Wed, 24 Feb 2016 23:10:03 +0000 http://www.donich.co.uk/?p=5307 Another beautiful day today – I am sure it is preparing itself to pour with rain on Friday when I have the day off. There was a fair sprinkling of snow this morning, but by the time R and I were on our way back from our walk, it had cleared up, and by this afternoon it was sunny though cold.

We had the most spectacular sunset as well – as you can see from the pictures.

What a sunset https://www.donich.co.uk/blog/2015/09/28/what-a-sunset-2/ https://www.donich.co.uk/blog/2015/09/28/what-a-sunset-2/#respond Mon, 28 Sep 2015 20:47:11 +0000 http://www.donich.co.uk/?p=5029 Not sure if it is at all related to yesterday’s Supermoon, but I have never in my life seen anything like the colours in the sky at sunset tonight. It was one of those sights that looked so amazing that photos of it don’t look quite real, but more as though someone with a rather heavy touch had tried to Photoshop them…

I’ll have to see if my Mum the artists can paint us a picture of one of them.
