Some interesting effects

After the strangely mild but clear day yesterday, it is back to cold and frosty this morning.

R noticed some strange effects outside. A small bush had been knocked over by the storm a couple of weeks back. Obviously sap had leaked from the broken stems and then frozen into swirls.

The first image looks like one of those “first year chemistry” experiments where you grow crystals on a string in a jam jar (or whatever the modern equivalent is). Or maybe like a rather unsuccessful attempt at pulled sugar work for a cake.
