The sign on the door
The house J has inherited has an annoying feature (well several actually but I’ll talk about this one right now). The front door of the house is on Cleves Drive, and the back door is on Wells road. This back door is highly unsuitable for deliveries as it is up a overgrown path and is hardly ever opened – but unfortunately this is where the postal address references.
Because of this, the thicker variety of delivery driver doesn’t think to himself “hmmm, this doesn’t look like a door anyone is using – let me consult my delivery instructions. Ah silly me, I see it says here deliver to front door in Cleves drive, so that is exactly what I will do”. Instead he dumps the parcel on the back doorstep where it gets all wet, or worst still takes it away with him.
So for the avoidance of doubt, as well as putting the information in the delivery instructions (this is you Amazon), I actually had a stone sign printed with the instructions and put it by the back door, where it would be very apparent to anyone trying to deliver there.
The Amazon driver placed the box right next to the sign at the back door and left it there. I despair.
I thought I had taken a picture of this, but I can’t find it, so the above is a pretty Norfolk scene from Little Walsingham instead.
